New storage facility comes online in northern Taiwan

Locally developed EMS shines with edge-computing features.

A new 5 MW energy storage system designed by our partners just became operational at Guishan Industrial Park in Taoyuan City. Equipped with Automatic Frequency Control (AFC), it is fully compatible with Taipower’s communication interface.

As with previous projects in Miaoli, Chiayi, and Hualien, this battery energy storage system (BESS) combines a CATL all-in-one battery system with a Linux-based energy management system (EMS) developed locally in Taiwan. Its state-of-the-art edge-computing architecture enhances security and resilience, while a cloud app provides real-time access to all relevant data.

Among the first to see the system in action were our customers from the largest battery maker in the Philippines, whom we are currently supporting with the setup of what will soon become the first lithium-ion battery pack assembly line in the country.
