DSC launches advanced li-ion battery pack for Japan market

A drop-in replacement for lead-acid in applications such as golf carts and industrial vehicles.

As part of the DSC Group’s current expansion in Japan, where our next branch office is scheduled to open in Q4, DSC Energy has commenced mass production of a new, high-performance lithium-ion battery pack at our manufacturing partners’ facilities in China.

Based on a proven LiFePO₄ platform we previously developed for one of our North American customers, this UL-certified battery pack features a high-current, fourth-generation BMS with 1C continuous charge/discharge capability, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including golf carts, work and recreational vehicles, and autonomous systems such as floor care machines.

It can safely operate even in a partial state of charge, and delivers double the runtime, up to 10 times the cycle life, and 5 times faster charging than a similar lead-acid battery — with less than half the weight.

A drop-in replacement for lead-acid, in a familiar format

End users in Japan and elsewhere will benefit from this product’s standard form factor, which allows for hassle-free replacement of BCI GC2-sized lead-acid batteries, including many common 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, and 48 V battery models. In practice, this will empower equipment owners, giving them the ability to move on to a more advanced and feature-rich lithium-ion battery without having to redesign trays, cable routes, or service routines, keeping existing platforms in operation while improving day-to-day usability.

This new product reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering highly [customized battery services](/services ““Discover our range of professional battery and energy storage services”) to customers worldwide. Whether they prefer to import finished products from one of our trusted OEM/ODM partners or establish their own local production line for SKD/CKD assembly with our support, DSC has the right solutions — with flexible collaboration models tailored to the requirements of each market and customer.
